Hawley Bennet Clinic : Panorama Ridge
Mar 16, 2005

Some lucky pony clubbers had a fabulous weekend at the Hawley Bennet Clinic on March 12 & 13/05.

The March 12/13th weekend brought sunny hot summer weather early to the Lower Mainland and was lucky for three Pony Clubbers.

Erin Wylie of Campbell Valley Pony Club and Mireya Hooper & Tracy Flesher of Panorama Ridge Pony Club were three of the many riders that enjoyed a fabulous clinic with Hawley Bennet, one of our very own locals who joined the Canadian Team in Athens 2004. Hawley, a past Pony Clubber herself, started these young riders on Saturday with a Stadium lesson at Harmony Farms, and with the weather looking so very good, decided to take the keeners out to Maple Ridge the second day.  And what a fabulous time they had!
All riders & their mounts were successful over all obstacles they were challenged with; including the brand new Water Splash. Mireya Hooper & Hawley helped “Timber” conquer his water issue. In the end, Timber seems to have decided that it is not so bad & may even like it again after having taken a long “sabbatical” from water. Thank you Hawley!!  ***image 3*** Erin and Ryder spent both days inside making those jumps bigger and polishing the rounds. Go at ‘em Ryder!  Tracy and Hyack proved that they can do it all steady and quiet. Giddyup!

At extra treat was the show that was taking place when we arrived. Tracy & Mireya took a few minutes out to watch Leslie Reid ride a Dressage Test. Wow, smooth, effortless and very quiet.  All in all, the weekend was a hit. Thank you to the parents that gave up their weekend to sit around and enjoy fabulous weather and the great scenery coupled with huge smiles on riders and horses alike. (hold it…that doesn’t sound so bad)
Thanks also to the clinic organizer Niki Ayers who did her best to accommodate times for the busy riders trying to “do it all” in one weekend and then some;  and for the discount to Pony Clubbers. For up-coming clinics check out the Canadian Pony Club web site and Horse Trials BC web sit.

Happy Trails!
