Central Ontario competitors did well at the Canadian Pony Club National Tetrathlon Championships, held August 11-15 in the Kawartha Lakes district of the Central Ontario Region.
In the individual Junior Women competition, Kendal Lehari of the Toronto & North York Pony Club finished third and Maddie Baker, also of Toronto & North York, finished ninth. Among the Junior Men, Zachary McCue of the Kawartha Pony Club was third, Ian Hutcheson of the Centaurus Pony Club was fifth and Tristan Lehari was seventh. Courtney Cotter of the Timberline Pony Club was 13th in the Senior Girls competition, with Britanny Emery of Toronto & North York15th. Central Ontario had no entries in the Senior Men competition.
Team standings are based on total scores from all levels. Central Ontario's Women's team finished eighth. A mixed Central Ontario and Alberta South Men's team finished third and a mixed Central Ontario and BC Lower Mainland team finished fifth.
Tetrathlon is a very demanding competition with four parts: swimming, shooting with air pistols, cross-country running and horse jumping (both stadium jumping and cross-country jumping).
