Here are highlight and detailed results of the 2002 Central Ontario Regional Show Jumping Finals, held at Audley Road Stables near Ajax on Sunday, September 15, presented from least to most difficult levels. Those entered in the Entry, Starter, Beginner, Novice and Intermediate Divisions became eligible via a set of qualifying shows held during the Spring and Summer. Each Division rode three classes, with a Champion and Reserve based on combined results.
Highlights
At the Pre-Entry A1 level, the Champion was Stephanie Toms on Valentine, from the Brooklin Pony Club. The Reserve was James Cruikshanks on Mikey, from the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club.
The Pre-Entry A2 Champion was Monica Jones on Tex, from the Ajax Pony Club, with fellow Ajax member Sam Elsenaar in Reserve on Champagne Cocktail.
At the Pre-Entry B level, Rebecca Simmons was Champion aboard Bianca, representing the Durham Pony Club, with Kalee DeFrance of the Brooklin Pony Club the Reserve on Apollo.
Julia McGill of the Durham Pony Club was the Entry Level Champion riding D'Artagnan, with Jessie McVittie of the Temiskaming Pony Club the Reserve on Merrylegs.
Ashley Milne of the Pickering Pony Club took the Starter Division Championship on Overtime. The Reserve was Dawn O'Neill of the Ajax Pony Club, riding Rainbow Connection.
At the Beginner level, the Champion was Jessie Barrieau of the Victoria Pony Club riding Keep on Dreamin', with Erin Blakeley of the Kawartha Pony Club the Reserve on Thunder Wings.
The Novice Champion was John Jamieson of the Kawartha Pony Club, riding Beam Me Up Scottie, with Andrea Edwards of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club the Reserve on Romeo.
The Intermediate Champion was Michael Durward of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club riding Gerrie Maguyre. There was no Reserve in this Division.
In team competition (up to five riders per team with the top four scores to count, as in Nations Cup competition), first place in the Pre-Entry Division went to Brooklin Pony Club Team #1 (Kara Phinney, Stephanie Toms, Kalee DeFrance and Lindsay McCrae); for the qualifying divisions, the winner was a combined Temiskaming/Kawartha team (John Jamieson, Erin Blakely, Eliza Gravel & Jessie McVittie).

This Division had only one entry, Michael Durward of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club riding Gerrie Maguyre. He was not eliminated in any class, and so won all three and was declared Champion.
Team Competition
At the Pre-Entry level, first place went to the Brooklin Pony Club Team #1, which included Kara Phinney, Stephanie Toms, Kalee DeFrance and Lindsay McCrae. Ajax took second place with a team whose members were Sam Elsenaar, Monica Jones, Erike Belanger, Lauren Cappelletti and Lauren Grant. Third place went to a mixed Durham/Tynedale team comprised of Rebecca Simmons, Andrea McGill, Christina Chamney and Danielle Heft.
Teams for the qualifying divisions were made up of members drawn from all divisions from Entry to Novice. First place went to a mixed Temiskaming/Kawartha team made up of John Jamieson, Erin Blakely, Eliza Gravel and Jessie McVittie. Brooklin took second place with a team which included Amanda Weston, Megan Chalmers, Ian Sharpe, Melanie Kirby and Courtney O'Brien. In third place was a mixed Durham/Centaurus team comprising Katie Murray, Kayla Neil, Julia McGill and D'Arcy Hutcheson.
