Here are results from the second of three Central Ontario Region Show Jumping Qualifiers, held on July 18 at Audley Road Stables near Ajax. Selection for the Central Ontario Show Jumping team, which will compete against teams from the Western Ontario and St. Lawrence-Ottawa Valley Regions, will be based on scores achieved at this meet and two other qualifiers, one already held and one on August 1. This year, the Central Canada Zone Championships are being hosted by the St. Lawrence-Ottawa Valley Region on August 28-29.
In this show, three divisions of Pre-Entry level riders competed in two classes each, both single round plus jump-off, plus a warm-up round. Pre-Entry level riders do not qualify for the Central Canadian Championships. The higher divisions competed in three classes each, two single round plus jump-off classes and one speed class, to determine a Champion and a Reserve in each division. Highlights follow, with results to tenth place in each class available from the Central Ontario press releases portion of the Canadian Pony Club website.

Pre-Entry Division A-1
In Class1, first place went to Emma Lemay Nedjelski of the host Ajax Pony Club, riding Jalpeno. Alexandra Reynolds of the Kawartha Pony Club took second place on She's Like the Wind, and Kylie Figueira of the Victoria Pony Club was third on Go for Cool. James Cruikshanks of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club was first in Class 2 riding Target, with Jane Stephenson, another Uxbridge-Scugog rider, second on Missy. Kylie Figueira and Go for Cool took third. Champion was James Cruikshanks, Reserve was Emma Lemay Nedjelski.
Pre-Entry Division A-2
Jennifer Shumilak of the Ajax Pony Club won Class 1 aboard Morgana, with Kristen Cappellitti, another Ajax rider, second on Oreo Cookie. Third place went to Alyssa Stavrakos on Alyssa's Lincoln. In Class 2, Ajax Pony Club riders swept the top three spots, with first going to Kaitlin Devoe aboard Van Gogh, second to Kristen Cappellitti and Oreo Cookie, and third to Paige Shumilak on Montigo Bay. Kristen Cappellitti was Champion with Jennifer Shumilak the Reserve.
Pre-Entry Division B
In Class 1, Alexandra Kelly of the Victoria Pony Club took the honours riding Black Hat, with Lindsay Devoe of Ajax second on Trigger Appy, and Jennalyn Webber of the Simcoe Pony Club third on Chili Pepper. Ms. Kelly and Black Hat also won Class 2, with Jennalyn Webber and Chili Pepper second this time, and Jennifer McKeen of the Oshawa Pony Club third on Colwyn Tegan. Alexandra Kelly was Champion and Jennalyn Webber was Reserve.
Entry Division (First Qualifying Level)
Johanna McKeen of the Oshawa Pony Club took first place in Class 1 riding Mya, with Kayla Neil of the Durham Pony Club second on Cruiser and Sean Cruikshanks of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club third riding Cennabar. In Class 2, Kayla Neil and Cruiser took the top spot, with second place going to Andrea McGill of the Durham Pony Club aboard Phoenix Rising, and Sean Cruikshanks again third with Cennabar. Sam Elsenaar of the Ajax Pony Club won Class 3 riding Cadbury, with Johanna McKeen and Mya second, and Kate Hoppe of the Brooklin Pony Club third on Beaverwoods Larkspur. Kayla Neil was the Champion and Kate Hoppe the Reserve.
Starter Division
In Class 1, the winner was Katelyn Powell of the Durham Pony Club riding Sundance, with Jessie McVittie of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club second on Merrylegs, and third place going to Jessica Figas of the Kawartha Pony Club aboard Simply a Miracle. Katelyn Powell and Sundance also won Class 2, with Dawn O'Neill of the Ajax Pony Club second on Natasha, and Jessie McVittie and Merrylegs in third place. Erika Belanger of Ajax won Class 3 riding Rainbow Connection, with Meagan Christou of Oshawa second on Royal China and Laura Grant of Ajax third on Ramblin Rose. Katelyn Powell was the Champion with Jessie McVittie in Reserve.
Beginner Division
Samantha MacDonald of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club won Class 1 riding Heart of Gold. Jessie McVittie was second, this time riding Rubix Cube. Third place went to D'Arcy Hutcheson of the Centaurus Pony Club, on Irish Park's Fair Erin. Samantha MacDonald and Heart of Gold also won Class 2, with D'Arcy Hutcheson and Irish Park's Fair Erin second this time, and Lorraine Smith of Uxbridge-Scugog third on Baily. Ms. MacDonald made it a clean sweep by winning Class 3 as well, with Jessie McVittie and Rubix Cube second, and Lorraine Smith and Baily third. Samantha MacDonald was Champion, with Jessie McVittie the Reserve in a second Division.
Novice Division
Only two riders got through all three classes without being eliminated, and the order of finish was the same in Classes 1 and 3. Jade Stalk of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club won both these classes on High Roller, and Julia McGill of the Durham Pony Club finished second in both riding D'Artagnan. The order of finish was reversed for Class 2, the speed class. Jade Stalk was Champion with Julia McGill the Reserve.
Intermediate Division
Katie Murray of the Durham Pony Club won Class 1 riding Jamane, the only entry not eliminated. In Classes 2 and 3, Katie Murray and Jamane repeated as winners, with Megan Mattos of the Waussnodae Pony Club second both times riding Sing Freely. Katie Murray was the Champion and Megan Mattos the Reserve.
