The Central Ontario Region of Pony Club held its second Prince Philip Games meet of the 2005 season on June 12 at Durward Farm north of Port Perry. Highlight results are shown below, with complete order of finish for this meet and also cumulative standings to follow.
In the A division, the Uxbridge-Scugog "Incredibles" took first place in this meet and moved into first place for the season to date. Second place went to another Uxbridge-Scugog team, the "Fast and Furious," with a mixed Temiskaming/Northwoods team third.
The Uxbridge-Scugog "Terminators" tightened their hold on first place in the B division standings with a convincing win at this meet. A combined Durham/Waussnodae team took second place, with Maple Pony Club in third.
Victoria Pony Club posted a narrow one-point victory in the C division, and continues to lead the season standings. A combined Uxbridge-Scugog/Arête de Chêne team took second place, with Simcoe in third.
In the Masters Games, for players 15 and older, a mixed Uxbridge-Scugog/Durham team won this meet handily and moved into first place after two contests. A combined Victoria/Waussnodae/Baltimore Hills team came second and a combined Simcoe/Temiskaming team was third.
The Prince Philip Cup Games are a team competition played by Pony Clubs around the world. Many of the Games require the riders and ponies to run a slalom course around a series of poles from one end of the playing field to the other, where they hand-off something to the next rider on their team. In some races, riders have to vault off of and onto their ponies.
