Here are the results from the third Central Ontario Region Qualifier for the Central Canadian Zone Show Jumping Championships, held on Sunday, July 17, at Audley Road Stables near Ajax, hosted by the Ajax Pony Club. Selection for the Central Ontario Show Jumping team, which will compete against teams from the Western Ontario and St. Lawrence-Ottawa Valley Regions, will be based on scores achieved at this meet and three other qualifiers, hosted by the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club on May 29, by the Centaurus Pony Club on June 19 and by the Brooklin Pony Club on July 31. This year, the Central Canada Zone Championships are being hosted by the Western Ontario Region on August 20-21.
In this show, three divisions of Pre-Entry riders competed in two classes each, a medal class judged on equitation, both over fences and at various gaits on the flat, and a single round plus jump-off, plus a warm-up round. Pre-Entry riders do not qualify for the Central Canadian Championships. The higher divisions competed in three classes each, a medal class, a single round plus jump-off and a speed class, to determine a Champion and a Reserve in each division. Highlights follow, with results to tenth place in each class after the highlights.
Pre-Entry Division A-1
In Class1, the medal class, first place went to Lindsay Tucker of the Ajax Pony Club on Sock it to Me. Kylie Figueira of the Victoria Pony Club was second on Go for Cool, with Alexandra Reynolds of the Kawartha Pony Club third riding She's Like the Wind. Kylie Figueira won Class 2, the single round plus jump-off, with Alexandra Reynolds second and Lindsay Tucker third. Champion was Kylie Figueira, Reserve was Lindsay Tucker.
Pre-Entry Division A-2
In the medal class, Ajax Pony Club riders swept the first three places. Sarah McDonnell took the honours riding Pumpkin Pie, Angie Moorecroft was second on Cadbury and Jessica Clarke was third aboard Van Gogh. Jasmine Woolley of the Centaurus Pony Club won Class 2 aboard Spook, with another Centaurus rider, Emma Bradbury, second riding Cassie and Jessica Clarke again taking third. Jasmine Woolley was the Division Champion, with Jessica Clarke the Reserve.
Pre-Entry Division B
In Class 1, the winner was Emma Lemay Nedjelski of the Ajax Pony Club, riding Jalapeno. Second place went to Sarah Baker of the Tynedale Pony Club on Tynedale Dandy, with Nicole Russel-Poliquin of the Oshawa Pony Club third aboard Driving Miss Daisy. Jessica McDonnell of the Ajax Pony Club won Class 2 riding Champagne Cocktail, with Brynn Jobb of the Brooklin Pony Club second on Springfield's Clyde, and another Ajax rider, Jennifer Shumilak, third on Morgana. Champion was Emma Lemay Nedjelski, Reserve was Jessica McDonnell.
Entry Division (First Qualifying Level)
Erika Belanger of the Ajax Pony Club took first place in the medal class riding Ramblin' Rose, with another Ajax rider, Kristie Abe, second on Natasha. Kathryn Martin of the Simcoe Pony Club took third place riding Roxy. In Class 2, the single round with jump-off, Jennifer McKeen of the Oshawa Pony Club was the winner on Mya, with Rachel Goodman of the Whitchurch Pony Club second riding Chestnut Hill Tiffany, and Kristie Abe third. Lauren Kelly of the Victoria Pony Club won the speed class aboard Skylark, with second spot going to Jennifer McKeen and third to Kathryn Martin. Champion was Jennifer McKeen, Reserve was Kristie Abe.
Starter Division
In the medal class, the winner was Mallory Black of the King Pony Club on Galileo. Hanna Bailey of the Victoria Pony Club was second riding Let's Rhumba, and third place went to Ilona Parenteau of the Toronto & North York Pony Club riding Anastasia. Kataryna Boysiak of the Oshawa Pony Club won Class 2, the single round with jump-off, riding Midnight Magic, with another Oshawa rider, Meagan Christou second on Favor Sierra and Laura Parliament of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club third riding Star. Sean Cruikshanks of Uxbridge-Scugog won Class 3, the speed class, riding Cennabarr, with second place going to Stephanie Crawford of the Pickering Pony Club riding Black Edition, and Laura Parliament third. Champion was Kataryna Boysiak, Reserve was Sean Cruikshanks.
Beginner Division
D'Arcy Hutcheson of the Centaurus Pony Club took first place in the medal class riding Somer Led's O'Finnigan, with Christy Chamney of the Maple Pony Club second on My Turn and Katelyn Powell of the Durham Pony third on Sundance. In Class 2, Katelyn Powell was the winner, with Andrea McGill of the Durham Pony Club taking second spot on Phoenix Rising, and Jenna Patterson of the Pine Ridge Pony Club in third place aboard Mr. Ed. Jennalyn Webber of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club took the honours in Class 3 on My Prince Charming, with Christy Chamney second, and Jenna Patterson third. Champion was Katelyn Powell, Reserve was Jenna Patterson.
Novice Division
Maya Kenedy of the Maple Pony Club took the honours in the medal class aboard Napoleon Brandy, with Jessica McVittie of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club second riding Rubik's Cube and Emily Mitchell of the Maple Pony Club third on Lady Marmalade. In the single round with jump-off, D'Arcy Hutcheson was first, this time riding Irish Park's Fair Erin, and Jessica McVittie was again second, with Samantha MacDonald of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club third riding Heart of Gold. D'Arcy Hutcheson and Irish Park's Fair Erin were again first in the speed class, with Kourtney Matysek of the Victoria Pony Club second riding Rule the Day and Samantha MacDonald again third. Champion was D'Arcy Hutcheson, Reserve was Jessica McVittie.
Intermediate Division
There was only one entry in the Intermediate Division, Julia McGill of the Durham Pony Club, who completed all three classes in first place riding D'Artagnan, and was the Division Champion.
