Here are highlight results from the Central Ontario Regional Show Jumping Finals, held on August 13 at Chance Stables near Bowmanville. Placings to tenth follow the highlights.
In this show, three divisions of Pre-Entry level riders competed in two classes each, a medal class and a Table AM5single round plus jump-off, plus a warm-up round. The higher divisions, Entry, Starter, Beginner, Novice and Intermediate, competed in three classes each, a medal class, a Table AM5 single round with jump-off and a power and speed class, to determine a Champion and a Reserve in each division.
Pre-Entry Division A1
Dalton Wright of the Durham Pony Club won the medal class on Pollyanna, with Alexandra Gannon of the Goodwood Pony Club second on My Stanley Cup, and Brigid Goulem of the Kawartha Pony Club third riding Precious Poco. In the single round plus jump-off class, Colin Oldridge of the Victoria Pony Club took the honours on Snow Pony Jack Pine, with Brigid Goulem second and Dalton Wright third. Dalton Wright was Division Champion and Colin Oldridge was the Reserve.
Pre-Entry Division A2
Kassandra Sloan of the Oshawa Pony Club took first place in the medal class on Royal China, Chelsea Geer of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club second on Tequila Sunrise and another Uxbridge-Scugog entry, Kailey Rigelhof, third on Jelly Beanz. In the single round with jump-off, Ms Rigelhof took top spot, with Katherine Earle of the Ajax Pony Club second on Van Gogh and Mary Reynolds, also of Ajax, third on Spice of Life. Ms Rigelhof was Division Champion and Ms Sloan was the Reserve.
Pre-Entry Division B
Kaitlin Devoe of the Ajax Pony Club won the medal class aboard Aladdin, with another Ajax rider, Jessica Clarke, second on Natasha and Lauren Bridle of the Waussnodae Pony Club third on Skyler. Ms Devoe also won the single round with jump-off, with Meaghan Lloyd of the Durham Pony Club second on Cabfare and Samantha Lobbezoo third on Ride' em Harley Style. Ms Devoe was Division Champion with Ms Lloyd the Reserve
Pre-Entry Schooling Division
This new Division had only two entries in the Finals. Julia McGill of the Durham Pony Club finished first in both classes riding Dressed to Kill, with Carolyn Russell-Poliquin of the Oshawa Pony Club second in both on Mr. Zoodles. Ms McGill was Division Champion and Ms Russell-Poliquin was the Reserve.
Entry Division
Cori Barnes of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club won the medal class on Sure Da Count, with Rebecca Simmons of the Durham Pony Club second on Hott Chocklat and Rachel Goodman of the Whitchurch Pony Club third on Chestnut Hill Tiffany. Ms Simmons took top spot in the single round with jump-off, with Jazmyne Woolley of the Centaurus Pony Club second riding Timbit and Ms Barnes third. Ms Simmons also won the power and speed class, with Ms Goodman second and Ms Woolley third. Ms Simmons was Champion and Ms Barnes was the Reserve.
Starter Division
In the medal class, first place went to Jane Stephenson of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club and her mount Merrylegs. Emily Gillies of the Ajax Pony Club took second aboard Rambling Rose, and Dawn O'Neill, another Ajax rider, placed third riding After Finals. Ms Gillies won the single round with jump-off, with Ms O'Neill second and Ms Stephenson third. Christine Oldridge of the Victoria Pony Club took top spot in the power and speed round riding Laser Speed, with Ms Stephenson second and Stephanie Dejong of the Pine Ridge Pony Club third on Cool Hand Luke. Ms Stephenson was Champion with Ms Gillies the Reserve.
Beginner Division
Jennifer McKeen of the Oshawa Pony Club won the medal class riding Mya. Second place went to another Oshawa rider, Meagan Christou riding Favor Sierra, with yet another Oshawa rider, Johanna McKeen, third on Millgate Braveheart. Jennifer McKeen also won the single round with jump-off, Rebecca Adrian of the Kawartha Pony Club placed second on Narhan's Gift, with Ms Christou third. Ms Adrian won the power and speed class, with Kataryna Borysiak of Oshawa second on Midnight Magic and Ms Christou again third. Jennifer McKeen was Champion and Ms Adrian was the Reserve.
Novice Division
Hanna Bailey of the Victoria Pony Club took the honours in the medal class riding Let's Rumba, with Sarah Wilson of Kawartha second on Beauregarde and Stephanie Crawford of Durham third on Black Edition. In the single round with jump-off, Andrea McGill of Durham placed first on Phoenix Rising, with Ms Bailey second and Ms Crawford third. In the power and speed class, the order of finish among the first three was the same as in the single round with jump-off. Ms Bailey was Champion and Ms McGill was the Reserve.
Intermediate Division
There were only two entries in this Division. Katie Murray of the Durham Pony Club won all three classes riding Pennywise, and Emily Mitchell of the Maple Pony Club finished second on Love at First Bite. Ms Murray was Champion and Ms Mitchell the Reserve.
Advanced Division
Once again there were only two entries, but this time the results were not quite so consistent. Jenna Paterson of the Pine Ridge Pony Club won the medal class and the single round with jump-off riding Mr. Ed, and Jennalyn Webber of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club placed second in these classes on My Prince Charming. In the power and speed class, Ms Webber was first and Ms Paterson second. Ms Paterson was Champion and Ms Webber the Reserve.
