Here are highlight results for the Central Ontario Regional Dressage Finals, plus a fourth qualifier. This competition took place on Sunday, September 23 at the Norwood fairgrounds. Detailed results follow the highlights.
Regional Finals
The highest level in this show was First Level Division B. In this division the order of finish was the same for both Test C and Test D. The winner and Division Champion was Jenny Fulton of the Oshawa Pony Club riding Romeo's Juliet. Second place and Division Reserve went to Jessie Ball of the Victoria Pony Club on Corona's Kiowa.
In the First Level Division Acompetition, Rebecca Adrian of the Kawartha Pony Club rode Narhans Gift to first place finishes in both First Level Tests. Ms Adrian was the only entry in the First Level Division A, and took first place riding "against the book." She was First Level A Champion with no Reserve.
In the Training Division, Carrie Doorenspleet of the Durham Pony Club won both the Test C andTest D classes on Gold Rush Frontier. Jane Little of the Arête de Chêne Pony Club was second in both classes on Spanish Velvet Lace and Hilary Howran of the Kawartha Pony Club was third on Mackeeba. Ms Doorenspleet was Training Division Champion with Little the Reserve. Ms Howran also won the Training Freestyle competition.
Alexandra Reynolds of the Kawartha Pony Club won the Pre-Training Test 1 Class on She's Like the Wind, with Emily Lindsay of the Rising Star Pony Club second on Tarragon and Megan Pagniello of the King Pony Club third on Sumitt. In Pre-Training Test 2, the winner was Alycia McCracken of the Simcoe Pony Club on Mr. Handsome, with Meaghan Lloyd of the Durham Pony Club second on Cab Fare and Ms Reynolds third. The Pre-Training champion was Ms Reynolds, with Ms Lloyd the Reserve. The Pre-Training Freestyle class was won by Jennifer McKeen of the Oshawa Pony Club on Whim, with Alexandra Reynolds of Kawartha second on She's Like the Wind and Janene Howran, also of Kawartha, third aboard Zia's Tattered Lace. The Pre-Training Drill Team was won by Rising Star, with Stacy Bootsma on Reesez Piecez, Chloe Raitt on Ginger, Amy Westlund on JP, Kayla Weber on Dad's Fancy Prince, Lindsay Weber on Ty's Two K and Emily Lindsay on Tarragon.
In the Starter Division, the Test 1 class was won by Kelsey McDonald of the Simcoe Pony Club riding Connect the Dots. Second place went to another Simcoe Rider, Jenna Crone, aboard Moonkisst's Fantasy, and Amy Westlund of the Rising Star Pony Club was third on Tarragon. In Test 2, the winner was again Ms McDonald, with Ms Westlund second and a tie for third between Jenna Meeser of the Simcoe Pony Club on In the Ribbons and Emily Briggs of Arête de Chêne riding Dressed in Diamonds. Ms McDonald was Starter Division Champion with Ms Westlund the Reserve. Alexandra Sprague of the Kawartha Pony Club won the Starter Freestyle on Come as You Are, with second place going to Kathleen Buchner of Waussnodae on Billy. The Starter Drill Team was won by a mixed team comprising Ms Buchner on Billy, Lisa Holliday on Panda, Allyson Kollaard on What a Mess (all from the Waussnodae Pony Club), Janene Howran on Pick Nick, Hilary Howran on Reeba (both from Kawartha), Kataryna Borysiak on Midnight Magic, Johanna McKeen on Lumberwagon and Jennifer McKeen on Freddy the Freak (all from Oshawa).
Allyson Kollaard of the Waussnodae Pony Club won the Entry Division Test 1 on Freddy the Freak, with second place going to another Waussnodae rider, Kathleen Buchner, this time riding Lumberwagon. Caileigh Johnston of the Simcoe Pony Club placed third on Cocomo. In Test 2, the winner was Ms Buchner, with Ms Kollaard second and Jessica Rowe of the Durham Pony Club third on Polly. Ms Buchner was Entry Champion with Ms Kollaard the Reserve
Qualifier
Jessie Ball and Corona's Kiowa placed were the only entry in First Level Test C and D, and placed first, riding "against the book."
Hilary Howran of Kawartha and Mackeeba won both the Training Level Test C and Test D classes as the only qualifier entry.
In the Pre-Training Division, Jennifer McKeen of the Oshawa Pony Club won Test 1 aboard Whim, with Janene Howran of Kawartha second on Zia's Tattered Lace. In Test 2, Ms Howran placed first and Ms McKeen second. Ms McKeen was Champion in the qualifier and Ms Howran was Reserve. Ms McKeen also won the Pre-Training Freestyle.
Emily Briggs of the Arête de Chêne Pony Club won both the Starter Test 1 and Starter Test 2 classes on Dressed in Diamonds, with Lisa Holliday of Waussnodae second in both classes on Panda. Ms Briggs was Champion and Ms Holliday was the Reserve. Kathleen Buchner won the Starter Freestyle class on Billy. The Waussnodae/Kawartha/Oshawa team won the Starter Drill Team qualifier competition - same riders as in the finals but some switching of mounts.
Caleigh Johnston of Simcoe won both the Entry 1 and Entry 2 classes in the Qualifier on Cocomo, with second place in Test 1 going to another Simcoe rider, Hanna Prokopetz, on Lucky, and third to Michelle Treen of Durham on Darnet Garnet. In Test 2, Ms Treen finished second and Ms Prokopetz third. Ms Johnston was Entry Champion in the qualifier, and Ms Treen was the Reserve.
