Here are highlight results from the second Central Ontario Qualifier for the Regional Show Jumping Finals, held on Sunday, July 18 at Audley Road Stables near Ajax, hosted by the Ajax Pony Club. Complete order of finish follows the highlights. Selection for the Regional Finals will be based on scores achieved at this meet and two other qualifiers, one in June and the other coming up in August.
In this show, four divisions of Pre-Entry riders competed in two classes each: a single round plus jump-off class, and a medal class judged on equitation both over fences and at various gaits on the flat. The higher divisions competed in three classes each, a single round plus jump-off class, a power and speed class and a medal class to determine a Champion and a Reserve in each division.
Pre-Entry Division A-1
Kimberley Moriarity of the Maple Pony Club was the only entry in this Division, and completed both classes successfully on What's Up Doc, so she was Division Champion.
Pre-Entry Division A-2
In the single round with jump-off class, the winner was Victoria Papp of the Ajax Pony Club riding Twist of Fate. Second place went to Keely Miller of Maple on Trixiebelle, with Rachel Scott of the Victoria Pony Club third on Diamonds from Sierra. Saskia Kersten of Ajax won the medal class on Cherry Dreams, with Ms Scott second and Ms Papp third. Ms Papp was Division Champion, and Ms Kersten was the Reserve.
Pre-Entry Division B
In Class 1, the single round with jump-off, Maggie Murphy of Ajax placed first on Action Jackson, with Emily Pearson of Victoria second on Suzie Q and Talia Rockman of Maple third on Always Fresh Always Timmy. Ms Rockman took the honours in the medal class, with Ms Murphy second and Samantha Anderson of the King Pony Club third on Riley. Ms Murphy was Champion, and Ms Rockman was Reserve.
Pre-Entry Schooling Division
Karen Foell of Toronto & North York Pony won both classes aboard Serene Dream, with Lindsay Tucker of the Ajax Pony Club second in both on Miss Taylor Meg. Ms Foell was Champion, with Ms Tucker the Reserve.
Entry Division (First Qualifying Level)
Kaisha Barber of the Durham Pony Club took first place in the single round with jump-off class riding Sundancer, with Emily Banks Ng of the King Pony club second on Max and Meg Scott of Victoria third aboard Attack in Black. In Class 2, the power and speed class, Jenna Messer of the Rising Star Pony Club placed first riding In The Ribbons, with Ms Barber second and Ms Banks Ng third. Ms Messer also won the medal class, with second spot going to Ms Banks Ng and Ms Barber in third. Champion was Ms Messer, and Reserve was Ms Barber.
Starter Division
In the single round with jump-off class, the winner was Alison Hannah of the new Eco Ridge Pony Club, riding He's So Dandy. Shay Lucas of the Maple Pony Club was second on Rodeo Romance, and third place went to Jessica Clarke of Eco Ridge on A Shot of Whiskey. Ms Lucas won Class 2, the power and speed class, with Riikka Kojola of Maple second on Aflame and Rachel Scott of Victoria third, this time riding Peanut. Ms Hannah won Class 3, the medal class, with second place going to Ms Clarke and third to Ms Lucas. Champion was Ms Lucas, Reserve was Ms Hannah.
Beginner Division
Sarah Smith of Maple won the single round with jump-off class riding Mad About You, with Sam Lobbezoo of the Brooklin Pony Club second on Huki's Last Knight, and no third. In the power and speed class, the order of finish was reversed, and in the medal class, Ms Smith finished first with no second. Ms Smith was Champion and Ms Lobbezoo was Reserve.
Novice Division
Kassandra Sloan of the Oshawa Pony Club took the honours in the single round with jump-off class on Finder's Keepers, with another Oshawa rider, Jennifer McKeen, second on Millie, and no third. In both the power and speed and medal classes, Ms McKeen was first and Ms Sloan was second. Champion was Ms McKeen, Reserve was Ms Sloan.
