On Saturday, May 8, approximately 100 members of 11Central Ontario Pony Clubs took part in the Central Ontario Regional Quiz at Uxbridge Secondary School in Uxbridge. Quiz includes a written test, a visual test where competitors have to identify strange, obscure and unusual horsy objects by sight (older competitors often have to read an X-Ray), an oral test and several "Quiz Stations" (games). The divisions in Quiz are based on age and knowledge level. The D, D1 and D2 levels are for the youngest and least experienced members, the C level for the intermediates, and the A/B level for the oldest and most experienced. D and D1 competition is on a team basis only, while the higher levels compete as both individuals and teams.

Here are the team standings. At the A/B level, Maple fielded the only team and took first place. At the C level, Centaurus were the champs, with teams from Maple taking both second and third. In the D2 competition, Rising Star placed first, Durham second and Ajax third. Durham placed first at the D1 level, with King second and Brooklin third. A Durham team also finished first in the D division, with Ajax second and Maple third.
Kyra Holmes and Emily Boyce of the Maple Pony Club qualified to represent Central Ontario in A/B competition at the National Quiz, to be held in Nova Scotia this October. Hilary Howran of Kawartha and three Maple members, Emily White-Williams, Molly White-Williams and Jen Stoltz, qualified at the C level. At the D2 level, ribbons went to the top individual competitors, Amy Westland and Kayla Weber, both of Rising Star, and to Jennifer Boadway and Cassandra Henderson, both of Toronto & North York.
Pony Clubs also compete at a Branch level on display projects, based on a set theme - this year, "Buying a horse". First place went to the King Pony Club, with Brooklin second and Rising Star third.

At the A/B level, Kyra Holmes placed first in all phases and Emily Boyce placed second in all phases.
