Vancouver Pony Club is based in the the Southland's area of Vancouver. The membership stretches throughout the city and includes North and West Vancouver. It is open to children aged 8 to 21 years of age.
The Vancouver Pony Club was first formed in 1946 by Col. and Mrs. T. D. Sutherland at 6726 Blenheim in Southlands. In 1950, the Vancouver Pony Club was officially accepted as a Branch of The Pony Club under the British Horse Society with Mrs. Rena Sutherland as its first District Commissioner. A trophy is given in her honour at the Annual Vancouver Pony Club Show. Vancouver Pony Club was recognized and accepted as a branch of Canadian Pony Club in 1958. VPC has been an active organization since that time with as many as 80 members.
