Quiz

Quiz is organized to test theoretical knowledge of horsemanship and of various Pony Club activities.

In Quiz, Pony Club members compete as teams without horses or ponies. Quiz tests knowledge, not skills. It consists of an individual portion and team games. The individual portion of quiz are a written test and a visual test where competitors have to identify strange, obscure, unusual objects of a horsy nature. The individual scores are added to the game scores, adding up to a total team score.

The quiz level requirements are as follows (ages as of January 1st):

SENIOR - A level or less, can be any PC member in good standing.
INTERMEDIATE - less than B level, can be any PC member in good standing.
JUNIOR - Less than C level & must be 13 yrs of age or less.
ENTRY - 10 years and up and untested, not competed at quiz before, 1st or 2nd year in Pony Club.
SNURF - E and D level (not D1/D2) must be 9 years of age or less.

Scoring:

Written Test - 40 marks (individual)
Visual Identification - 30 marks (individual)
Games - 30 marks (team)

Senior teams will be made up of 2 or 3 individuals. Other Teams will be made up of 3 or 4 members, with the three best individual scores used to calculate the team score.
Individuals and couples are encouraged to enter and we will make up teams so that everyone will be able to compete.

The winners of the intermediate and senior teams are eligible to compete at the National quiz.
